"I've set out to pay homage the best way I know how--thieving." That's what Collin said when he made Wightwash. It features almost as many tributary rock flavors as it does tracks, while still maintaining a consistent, bold thread throughout the 13-song experience. I've listened to it countless times, and it only improves with age. My current favorite track: Keep Moving On.
The 5-song EP Aligned was a successful experiment in simplification. Fewer mics, fewer layers, and a dynamic marriage of vintage rock and roll with modern alternative flavors. It also plays out a compelling narrative. Don't expect a satisfying ending, though - rumor has it that Col is working on a part two to continue what I considered a maddening cliffhanger. My current favorite track: Three.
